About This Project
This Surrey Hills home was thoughtfully reimagined through a substantial renovation and extension, creating a refined family residence that balances everyday functionality with understated luxury. Every space was carefully considered to improve the home's flow while introducing timeless materials, soft architectural curves and beautifully crafted custom joinery throughout.
INTERIOR DESIGN OVERVIEW
Kitchen, Living Room, Butler’s Pantry, Laundry
The heart of the home centres around an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space designed for both entertaining and daily family life. A sculptural curved island finished in Taj Mahal quartzite becomes the focal point of the kitchen, complemented by warm timber cabinetry, integrated appliances and a custom bronze rangehood that adds depth and character to the otherwise soft palette.
Behind the kitchen, a fully equipped walk-in pantry provides generous concealed storage, while the adjoining laundry continues the same material palette and custom cabinetry for a seamless transition between spaces.
The living room was designed as a calm retreat, anchored by a natural stone fireplace with a floating stone ledge. Bespoke joinery incorporates a concealed bar, allowing the cabinetry to transition effortlessly from practical family storage to entertaining.

Bathrooms
Each bathroom was designed with its own personality while remaining connected through a consistent palette of warm stone, soft lighting and carefully detailed joinery.
The powder room embraces a richer, moodier atmosphere, pairing textured burgundy wall tiles with a striking Viola stone pedestal basin, bronze fixtures and softly illuminated mirrors to create a memorable guest experience.
The ground floor main bathroom features a generous walk-in shower with recessed shelving, a built-in bathtub and a spacious double vanity with abundant storage, creating a practical yet luxurious family bathroom.
The ground floor ensuite continues the calm neutral palette with warm stone finishes, custom vanity cabinetry and a skylight positioned above the shower to introduce natural light while maintaining privacy.
Upstairs, the primary ensuite was designed as a private retreat, featuring a freestanding bath, double shower, double vanity and generous proportions that transform the daily routine into a spa-like experience.
Wellness & Recreation
The renovation also introduced a dedicated semi-basement gym and den, creating a flexible space for exercise, relaxation and everyday living while maintaining the same cohesive design language found throughout the home.
The result is a contemporary family residence that combines elegant natural materials, carefully crafted joinery and timeless architectural detailing to create spaces that feel warm, functional and enduring..
